Human Resources 101: Exploring HR Responsibilities

Four 1.5 hours sessions over 4 weeks
Designed specifically for owners, senior leaders and administrators the workshop will explore current HR Best Practices. Upon completion of the online course, FENBC members will receive a HR Toolkit for their business.
This four-part online program will be led by Sandra Reder, President and Founder of Vertical Bridge HR
Session 1: May 20, 2021
Hiring Best Practices – this will include discussion on the Human Rights Code and Employment Standards, samples of job descriptions/job postings, interviewing, reference checking, offers and onboarding.
Session 2: May 27, 2021
HR Policies & Procedures – this will include an overview of an HR Manual, why have one and how it integrates into the overall management of your employees.
Session 3: June 3, 2021
Performance Management – this will include why to conduct performance reviews, how to conduct them, ongoing performance coaching, dealing with toxic employees and difficult conversations.
Session 4: June 10, 2021
Employee Relations – this will include a section on leadership, engagement, motivation & retention, duty to accommodate and end of employment.
